Hello, dear farmers! In today's blog, I will be explaining our fourth assignment, which involves using AI tools in English Language Teaching (ELT) classes. We prepared a worksheet that involves using an AI chatbot called ChatGPT. Most of you probably heard about ChatGPT, but let me explain what it is shortly.

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a generative AI tool that can produce writing, answer questions and explain complicated topics, and provide insights. As a large language model (LLM), ChatGPT tries to understand a conversation's context to provide relevant responses.

How can we use AI in the ELT context?

Within a controlled context, the use of AI can provide many advantages. As AI tools enhance the learning process for learners, they can be personalized and paced up or down according to the students' needs.

About our creation process

I grouped up with Halil Turan, Mert Şen, and Sude Seven for this assignment. You can find their blogs below. I was responsible for designing the worksheet. For some reason, it was hard for me to create an output that I was satisfied with. I changed the activities and the layout several times. But in the end, I managed to complete the worksheet. Yayyyy! I added the first drafts of our worksheet and ASSURE plan. I will be updating them after our feedback session. Stay healthy!

What has changed?

This time, we made a lot of changes. What can I do? Some changes needed to be made. For example, we noticed that we designed a worksheet focused on grammar more than writing skills, even though it was not our intention. We worked on our questions and added new sections to solve this problem. We added an 'AI or me' activity to our handout. We finalized our ASSURE plan accordingly. Yeah, I guess that is all. I attached the finalized versions of our worksheet and ASSURE plan to the buttons above!
