HARVEST TIME – Creating a Digital Story -`✮´-

Hallo! In today's blog, I will share the digital story that my group members and I created together. We were asked to choose between three choices: a HOW TO project, a fictional story, or a public service announcement (PSA). After discussing, we decided to go with PSA to raise awareness about depression rates in Türkiye, as most of the people in our country tend to assume it is just a nonexistent illness even though it is a condition that affects many individual, and their lives.

What difficulties did I run into while doing the assignment?

I was responsible for creating the storyboard, shooting, and editing the videos. Since editing is something I enjoy, I did not have any major difficulties. Although I have to say that the whole project was very time-consuming. I spent a whole day filming, and another day just editing the videos. My data package was used up, so I had to purchase additional data. Using CapCut made things a bit easier.

"Would I give this task to my students?"

I am not sure if I would give this assignment to my students, but I probably would. It's a good task for helping students develop digital literacy. One downside is that I would need to dedicate a lot of time to allow my students to finish the assignment. If using multimedia is truly an effective way to teach the topic, then I'll need to design the lesson plan carefully.
